I received a letter from my daughter yesterday and I was told that she has stress fractures in both knees and her hip. I was wondering what will happen?? Will she be able to continue with her unit and will she still be able to graduate on time? Will she get a certain amount of recovery time? Any information would be helpful..concerned parent.

I do not have any information about any individual trainee. I am sorry that I can't be of further assistance, as I'm sure you're concerned, but the only information you'll be able to get will be from your trainee. The only thing I can tell you is that the drill sergeants will do everything in their power to get each trainee to graduate. If your daughter has a medical condition that doesn't allow her to graduate, that is beyond their control. Depending on the severity of her fractures, she could be put on a profile. There are different types of profiles, but some do not allow the soldier to train. If she is on a profile that doesn't allow her to train, and she misses training events that are requirements for graduation, she could be recycled. This means she would stay here and start BCT over again with either another unit here on post, or she could stay in 2-60th and start again with the next cycle. Honestly, there is no textbook answer to this question because it is all dependent on your soldier, her injuries, what training her injuries allow (if any), and whether or not she will even be able to continue in BCT.
